Principles
Based on Maui, Kukui Home Inspection is a family owned and managed business. Michael is the InterNACHI Certified Professional Home Inspector and his wife, Emily, is in charge of all things office related. their daughter Aurora is their cheerleader and their son Leo is their newest inspector in training.
Michael’s inspection background is rooted in the aviation industry, where he has spent more than a decade doing high-stakes mechanical inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs for many different types of aircraft.
Although houses are composed of different structural systems than aircraft, there are three main principles Michael uses to achieve accurate findings no matter what is being inspected:

For these reasons, when undergoing training to become a home inspector, Michael knew he wanted to pursue certification with the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors. InterNACHI has a high standard for continued education and recurrent training for its inspectors, and adheres to a code of ethics and standards of practice that set the bar in the home inspection industry.
Michael also uses a professional grade infrared camera with high resolution. Infrared imaging is an advanced, non-invasive method of revealing problem areas that may not be seen with the naked eye. Using thermal imaging can help us find moisture damage, detect electrical faults, reveal energy inefficiencies and even find unwelcome pests. This new technology is yet another step we take to ensure that you receive the most thorough inspection possible.
